Funded Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM): The nutritional content of fish aquafeeds for aquaponics

Published by , 22/3/2015

We are looking to award two grants to PhD students or early career postdoctoral researchers (less than 8 years since the award of the PhD) to undertake a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) for six weeks in the period of May to June 2015 in order to assemble the relevant data sets on existing fish aquafeeds and identify the relationships between new potential ingredients used in fish aquafeeds and its effect on the final vegetable product produced for aquaponics. The two researchers will work together to provide an overview of existing research on nutritional requirements and feeding strategies of fish used in aquaponics and create a database.

The researchers will be hosted by the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece. A fixed grant of€2500 will be awarded to each researcher as a contribution towards the cost of travel, board and lodging. The closing date for applications is 15 April 2015.
