The EU Aquaponics Hub was a four year (2014-2018) COST Action (FA1305). The Action was initiated in order to promote innovation and capacity building by a network of researchers and commercial aquaponics companies.
It brought together a multidisciplinary group of 28 Member Countries and Cooperating States, and 4 additional participating countries. The Action was particularly excellent in Training with 24 Short Term Scientific Missions and 7 Training Schools involving a total of 110 Early Career Researchers. Networking resulted in numerous high-quality outputs:
- 24 peer reviewed papers;
- 16 factsheets on a wide range of aspects of restoration; and
- A ‘White Paper on Aquaponics in the EU’ which contains 8 important recommendations aimed at policy makers and key stakeholders.
